Tips for a Budget Friendly Spring Break
1) Book early Some of the best deals are found when you book at least five months in advance. You will save a bundle by booking airline tickets, and accommodations way in advance.
2) Consider renting a house if traveling in a group. This will allow you to share the expenses among your group and could save you up to 50% on what you might pay on accommodation if booked at a resort. You will also have laundry and kitchen facilities which will enable you to prepare low cost meals saving you some of your vacation dollars. Also most houses will have a stocked pantry and refrigerator with the basic essentials.( Ask or request before you book)
3) A great way to safe money on essential amenities when traveling is by packing items like shampoo, soap, sunscreen, hand sanitizers, toothpaste, snacks, magazines. These items if bought at your destination can put a dent in your travel budget.(These may also items that you have at home already).
4) Say no to car rental, Most destinations have safe public transportation, If you stay at a hotel use the hotel shuttle service. You can also book a taxi service for your entire stay and most drivers will cut you a deal if booked for your entire stay.
5) When staying at a resort, always talk with your local hotel staff from the bartender, chef,to the housekeeper they will tell you where to find the best local deals on foods, shopping, free events and island happenings.
As with all traveling look ,listen to your gut, don't take chances beware of your surroundings. To say the least be safe
